GLAD he's our DAD!!

As a child I spent my "Father's Day" days with Grandpa, we were so close. Now I've grown up I realize all the many men who have been there. Today "Father's Day" is a tribute to those wonderful men who can be there for anyone. Always accepting the fatherly role! I have had many "dads" or father figures in my life. With an absent father so many have stepped up to be there for me. For one day, one hour, one moment or many, I am so glad to have had each of them in my life. I am so thankful for the man my mom is now married to, and the wonderful father he is for me. I would be sad to not include such a wonderful Father in Heaven. He has given me so much and is always understanding, even when I am not. He has brought such wonderful spirits into my life.

The most important Father in my life now is the Father of my children. He is so good to our family. Josh is always taking on extra duties. Especially now. He said the best fathers day gift would be for me to cook, clean, and take care of everything for the day. As much as I would have loved to do everything, the needs of the many (children) are stronger than the needs of the few (parents). Josh gladly and cheerfully woke up this morning to get the kids breakfast and help out. I can say after being up all night, I was not so cheerful. After making breakfast, Josh fixed the leaking shower, got ready for church, and threw in a load of laundry. I can say a lot about the household chores that he has done, but this is not what makes Josh a great Dad.

Daddy gets up in the night with a sick kid, even when he has to go to work in the morning. He helps clean up the nasty puke or poop or whatever all over the kid, the bed, the floor.
When we go the ER for one child, the other kids have a babysitter. Daddy is at the ER too.
Daddy is there when each child is born and stays close by until each precious gem is safely home.
Daddy is there to give the first bath, any many baths thereafter.
Daddy is a responsible Priesthood holder and able to give a Priesthood blessing anytime he is called upon.
Daddy teaches us how to work hard. Our Daddy goes to work too. So he can get money to buy stuff.
Daddy teaches us to respect others.
Daddy talks to us when we have done something wrong, and helps us to understand the right things to do.
Daddy FIXES Stuff.
Daddy climbs into the McDonald's playplace to get a child out when stuck.
Daddy wrestles with us on the floor.
Daddy plays ball with us outside.
Daddy loves to make us BBQ dinners.
Daddy tells us silly jokes. (Most of the time we don't understand yet, but we laugh together anyway.)
Daddy tickles us. Daddy hugs us.
Daddy carries us. Daddy holds us.
Daddy will let us play "Guitar Hero" with the band, and it's okay when we don't "rock" so well.
Daddy will fix the girls hair when Mommy is too sick.
Daddy tucks us snuggly in our beds at night, and kisses us gently on the head.
We are so happy when our daddy comes home for lunch and at the end of the day. We are especially happy on those mornings when Daddy doesn't go to work and is able to be with us all day!

Our Daddy does so many wonderful things to show his love for our family.
We are so GLAD he's our DAD!!!!!
