Birthday Party!

For Jaxon and Boo we had a "double" b-day party. We tried a Hawaiian theme, although we had no sun. We made it a quick party (only 1 hour) which turned out great since there were quite a few other birthday parties the same day. A friend of Jaxon had a bday the next day. His mom called and decided to do his party on Saturday. Thanks to her, both boys were able to attend both parties. It was very thoughtful.

I have a few pictures...some that Josh snapped between phone calls. We played Duck, Duck, Goose while we waited for everyone. Then we had a relay race (boys against girls) and the kids had to put on a grass skirt (the one shown in the pictures), a lei, a pair of sunglasses, and a hat. Then they ran down the grass and sat in the chair, clap three times, and run back..put the clothes in the suitcase and then then next person. Although this game is for a little older kids, they had fun...and it was so funny to watch them. The skirt was dragging on the ground. This was the best game and we didn't get any pictures.

Next we played "Hot Coconut". The kids really enjoyed this. A quick tip I picked up was to keep the music short so the game moved faster. Below, I am moving the kids into a circle.
Boo is the one with the princess crown and wavy hair. Jina is the one with the white hat.

If you look closely you can see the pinata. LOL...
The last game we played was freeze dance. I am always amazed how long this can last while you set up something else.
Next we ate Raspberry Sherbet in a waffle bowl, with whip Cream, cherries, and Pineapple. And a drink umbrella. It was a little cold, but we still ate it. Jaxon and Boo opened their presents while the kids ate. We had a few more friends show up during the ice cream and didn't get their pictures.

The last thing we did was the pinata. This was a stick beating pinata not the pull string kind. The kids took turns hitting it...and after a couple of kids we decided to take off the blind fold. After everyone had a turn, they went again, and Daddy helped Boo break it. She was thrilled!

I wrote this all down because sometimes parties can be overwhelming to plan, but this was easy! It was a great party, and we did cut the games short to make things move quicker. If you wanted to have a longer party it would still work great.
